My kamikaze wife teaches me a cool prospecting lesson while driving at 105 mph.

My wife is speeding along at 105 mph. I’m sitting quietly in the passenger seat, mostly because my fear is making it impossible for me to speak.

Finally I blurt out,

“Dear, you shouldn’t be going 105 mph!”

My wife calmly turns to me and says:

“But dear, you are also going 105 mph.”

How could I argue with that logic? I guess I just wasn’t seeing things from her point of view.

It’s the same principle when we talk with tough prospects. They believe that they can’t or shouldn’t do network marketing.

We can instantly change their point of view by saying:

“Most people do network marketing every day, but they just don’t get paid for it.”

Then we can explain how everyone recommends and promotes things every day, and we just choose to get paid for it instead of doing it for free.

Now the prospects are thinking:

“Hmmm, there are two types of people in the world. Those that collect a network marketing check every month, and those that don’t. Which group do I want to be in?”

We have effectively changed the prospects’ point of view. Now the prospects believe that they are already networking, so we can skip that entire part of our presentation.

What is network marketing?
Friday, December 9th, 2011

What is network marketing?

When people first hear the words “network marketing” or “MLM” - the first question in their minds is, “What do you mean?”

Network marketing is simply:

“Recommending and promoting what you like.”

That’s it.

Everyone already does network marketing.

We all recommend and promote things to our friends and acquaintances. This is part of the human experience. We naturally want to share our favorite resources, products, music and ideas.

Here is a quick example.

You see an ad in the paper for a new restaurant opening. You go, have a great meal, and then you tell your friends how wonderful the food was.
That was network marketing.

Now, the restaurant owner appreciated all of your word-of-mouth advertising. He would like to reward you, but he has already spent his entire marketing budget on advertising. So, when you return to his restaurant, he gives you a bottle of wine with your next meal as a “thank you” for bringing more customers to his restaurant.

Yes, we recommend movies, books, baby sitters, dentists, cars and more. We all do network marketing every day, however … some people actually get paid for it.

Want to get paid for what you are already doing?

Consider this. Many companies believe that the word-of-mouth recommendation and promotion of their products and services is more effective than money spent on advertising. Here is what they do.

They stop their traditional advertising and marketing.

These companies then use these unspent advertising and marketing monies to reward people who recommend and promote their products and services.

So if you like the products and services of one of these companies, don’t change what you are doing. Simply continue recommending and promoting, and let these companies send you cash every month.

There are two types of people in the world:

Those that recommend and promote the things they like, and

Those that get paid for it. Learn More

Hi Members,

It has been said that “Your network can determine your net worth”.

This is because your net worth is worked out at an average of the people closest to you in your network.

It’s so important to have a supportive network of like-minded people who you can bounce ideas off and get feedback from, people who are on the same level and understand you.

You might work from home or in a large office, and be thinking to yourself:

“Where do I find people that understand me and are on the same entrepreneurial path, facing the same challenges that I am?”

This is your chance this year to meet hundreds of like-minded go-getters at The Entrepreneurs Club.

Yes, I want to secure my ticket. Click here

We have a special guest for you in each city, an entrepreneur who has the experience and knowledge behind them and has made it – they’re living the dream.

They will share with you their entrepreneurial journey to success, the key challenges they have faced and their tips for developing a successful business.

Presentation Skills: The Art of Public Speaking
Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

Public speaking is full of people making basic mistakes. Luckily, you don’t have to be one of them! Now you’ve successfully ‘opened’ your presentation, here’s how to avoid the 3 biggest mistakes people make when they start getting into public speaking – and selling from stage. This article is a great refresher for both experienced speakers and oh so important for those just starting out.

Presentation Skills = Great Selling

You may or may not have considered this yet. But something you need to get clear in your mind is that if you want to master the art of public speaking and intend to make a real difference in the world, you need to become a great sales person.

I believe great leaders who inspired great change, such as Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, JFK were all amazing sales people. What do I mean by sales? Well, for me sales is when you create an environment of influence where you inspire people to take action in accordance with their vision.

I hold teachers in very high esteem. However many teachers think their job stops after the information is imparted. True leaders, or sales people, know that their job finishes only once someone has taken action toward their dream.

Most presenters selling from stage will think about their content first and their sales second. I encourage you to reverse this and instead think about what you are selling first, and craft your presentation to suit.

So I invite you to start to think about yourself as a great leader. I know you have a message that is close to your heart; whether you are conscious of it or not is irrelevant. There is something that inspires you. So begin to think about yourself as someone who is destined to change the planet for the better in some way.

Once you see yourself as a great leader then you are ready to start selling from stage. But what you want to do is avoid the following selling traps.

Three Big Mistakes To Avoid When Selling From Stage

Here are some surefire “kisses of death” for selling from stage right up front. I’m putting there here so you can avoid them!

Mistake #1: The speaker thinks a seminar is about imparting information only.
People learn through their emotions. Not their intellect. Emotions are the glue that make learning stick. So when you teach, how are you managing the emotions of your audience?

Mistake #2: Looking like crap on stage.
Honestly, if you are teaching or selling in your presentation, I don’t care who you are, please make yourself look at least half way decent when you’re speaking in public! If you can’t pull it together, get an image coach. Ladies, I’m sorry, this is even more important for you because yes, we do get judged more than men on how we look. It doesn’t take much to get it together with the right contacts.

Mistake #3: Having no integrity or out and out lying from stage.
The sad truth is there are some presenters and companies out there who will tell you one thing and then do another. I have even witnessed speakers lying through their teeth on stage. Please don’t be one of them.

Summary

You are something special. Do you get that? So this week, in fact starting right now, begin to think of yourself as someone special. Someone with a lot to offer and a mission to fulfill. You may already know what this is, or you may not. But commit right now to becoming a great leader. And commit right now to becoming a magnificent salesperson. Not just a conveyor of information, not just a teacher, but someone who sells from stage. In public speaking, the bigger your vision, the easier it is to inspire people to take action.

Two envelopes to get instant presentations.
Friday, November 25th, 2011

Two envelopes to get instant presentations.

When approaching a prospect, have two envelopes ready.

On the outside of one envelope, write the word:

“Interested.”

On the outside of the other envelope, write the words:

“Not Interested.”

If the prospect is not interested in attending an opportunity meeting, hearing about your business, or reviewing a pre-approach package, look at your two envelopes and give him the envelope marked, “Not Interested.”

The prospect might be curious enough about what is inside the other envelope to change his mind and ask for a presentation.

If the prospect is truly not interested, he can review the contents of the “Not Interested” envelope at his leisure. You can place some discounted coupons for your product or service in this envelope, or maybe put in a letter asking for referrals.

What can you put into the “Interested” envelope?

Use your imagination.

You could have an application, a catalog, testimonials, a getting started CD or coupons for free training.

The point of the exercise is that most prospects want to know what is inside the “Interested” envelope.

This is also a good technique to help you close at opportunity meetings. A couple of good ideas here

Success leaves clues, but so does failure.
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

Success leaves clues, but so does failure.

Where should you look for prospects? Good prospects? The kind of prospects that join?

Simply look at where you enrolled your last five distributors. Where and how did you meet these prospects?

Success leaves clues.

So instead of finding new and unique places to locate future distributors, go back to where you located the last five distributors.

But failure leaves clues also.

Take a look at why your last five prospects told you they weren’t interested. Was there a common theme? And where did you locate these uninterested prospects?

Many times we are standing too close to our successes and failures. We need to step back and observe to see if there are clues.

Tomorrow is payday for what we do today…
Sunday, November 20th, 2011

Tomorrow is payday for what we do today.

A great advantage in network marketing is that it is possible to do something today, and then get paid on it over and over again.

If we come into this business with a job attitude, seeking immediate rewards, we will be disappointed. Network marketing’s strongest point is the chance for residual income. With this in mind, we might want to change some strategies.

For example, instead of pushing for a one-time retail sale, we might invest more time with this prospect in building a stronger relationship. Then, later we would approach the prospect about our business.

There is an old saying, “If you need money now, get a job. And if you want residual income for the future, start building your network now.”

Why grasshoppers can’t drive.
Friday, November 18th, 2011

Why grasshoppers can’t drive.

Take one grasshopper and put him in the driver’s seat of your car.

Then yell, “Drive!”

What does the grasshopper do? Nothing. This proves that grasshoppers can’t hear. Or does it?

That would be the wrong conclusion.

We never taught the grasshopper how to drive. So how could we possibly expect them to perform a driving function? (Okay, their legs are too short also.)

It is the same with our new distributors.

We tell them to, “Set appointments, bring guests, and sponsor new people.”

So when they don’t follow our “guidance,” we jump to the wrong conclusion. We think they are lazy and unmotivated.

But think about our new distributors. They gave up television one night to come to our presentation. They reached in their pockets and invested their hard-earned money. Does this sound like they are lazy and unmotivated people?

Of course not.

They want to work. They want to succeed. But they just don’t know exactly what to say and do.

That’s our responsibility. learn how! click here

Why don’t prospects believe and trust you?
Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Why don’t prospects believe and trust you?

Because of what you say and do.

For example, suppose I say:

“Trust me, I’m from Texas!”

Or:

“I’m from the government and I am here to help you.”

In both cases, you might make an immediate decision: “I can’t trust you. Everything you say has to be reviewed and checked. I’m skeptical.”

Our immediate choice of words when we meet a prospect will create trust … or distrust. Our prospects are making a choice even before we tell them about our great opportunity.

Certainly we wouldn’t want to start with phrases such as:

“This is the greatest opportunity in the history of mankind.”
“I got a ground floor opportunity …”
“Our revolutionary product …”

So instead of choosing random words or hype, we need to carefully choose our opening words.

==> Want to get a little bit more professional? Write down the first 10 words you are going to say to your prospect now. Then look at those words and ask yourself if these words will build trust or create skepticism in your prospect.

So how did you do?

Professionals know this is the most important part of the presentation. If you can’t build instant rapport and trust, your presentation will fall on deaf ears.
Check out some great ideas here.
